Dear Vaneet,

The CTC of MPs, although on the higher side, is understable, since they represent a large population, over work, over travel and of course they are our Jawais, provided they deliver what they are expected to. The sad part is most of them not only do not perform, committedly/effectively but also swindle many times more than their authorised dues. Since the pay and perks are fantastic and I am passionate about performing with excellence with out a pie for self by way of corruption, could you in any way recommend my candidature for Bangalore North Constituency from the BJP (possibly to fight against Jaffar Sharief or Sangliana from the Congress). I present myself as an ex-servicemen representative as well as a tribal, "Dhangar/Kadu Kuruba", as i understand that one has to project oneself from some category! I am writing this on your blog page and not as a personal mail so that I could benefit from the other readers also, who could influence as well. Could this be a test case to show that a ticket for contesting could be obtained without paying a ransom for it? Could this also be be a test, in case I win, that a candidate can win with a maximum expense within the stipulated amount of 20 lakhs by the CEC, insteat of in crores. I was dissuaded by a good friend and an ex-minister here in Bangalore to contest as it is well known that to win a Lok Sabha seat one has to spend at least 50 crores! If that is true, how could one expect an MP to perform honestly?

Dear Cdr Khilari,

Had it been in my hands, i would have definately endorsed your candidature as we need honest and patriot people like you to go to the parliament to truly represent the people and raise your voice for the interest of your constituency. But unfortunately, i am in no position to do so. I wonder and i feel sad sometimes, what kind of people go the parliament? Tainted, corrupt, criminals supported by parties, who are dividing and devastating our motherland for petty votes, creating unsolicited vote banks. I hope, we both see the day in our lifetime only, when honest and true patriots are elected to represent us. We have reached the lowest ebb in politics and the logic says, that graph must go up from here as perhaps we are seeing the rampant corruption and tickets on sale for people who have the capacity to pay for it. I dont think, there is any chance of going down further from here. We live on hope and optimism. Did anyone in his dreams ever thought in America, a black, will one day become the president of the most powerful country in the world ? If obama represents change in mindset of Americans, why cant we ? But there is a big difference. Americans are educated and our rural voters are many light years behind in education and awakening. This may take many years to reach true awakening but you never know, miracles do happen in India sometime as we are a god-fearing country.
